Addressing the Replication Crisis in Social and Behavioral Sciences with well-dosed Philosophy of Science

MTR develops the Research Program Strategy (RPS) to overcome the replication crisis in the empirical social and behavioral sciences (ESBS). RPS integrates Frequentist and Bayesian statistical considerations. The main goal is to generate informative empirical hypotheses and theories.

Goal 1
Explain the ESBS replication crisis as the result of empirical research efforts that typically misapply or over-interpreted our best statistical inference tools.
Goal 2
Embed RPS into qualitative research; further “induction analysis” (as an alternative to meta-analysis); develop a theory-construction toolbox.
Goal 3
Disseminate results among ESBS researchers, funding agencies, and science-journalists via training events, workshops, and publications.
